Thank You Jesus

Psalm 30:11-12

English Standard Version (ESV)
11
You have turned for me my mourning into B)’>glory may sing your praise and not be silent.

Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

When I turned on my computer this morning a reminder popped up which read “Thank You Jesus.” I really needed to see that this morning. There is a little app called “Reminders” on all Apple devices. I am an all Apple guy now. I use it to remind me to pick up stuff at the store. To get my blood work done and to do numerous things that help me earn a living. A few weeks ago I told it to remind me every once in a while to “Thank You Jesus.” I’m so glad I did.

Sometimes I feel like I’m swimming in a sea of negativity. Part of the problem is that it’s the political season and the ocean is full of negative advertising. Part of the problem is that there really are lots of problems out there. Part of the problem is that problems are squeaky wheels. They make themselves known. Bills show up in the mail and if you don’t pay them reminders soon follow. When things are wrong with your body, they announce themselves in pain. When those around you aren’t happy, they make noise. The negative stuff has a way of getting noticed.

The good stuff tends to hide. If your head is full of problems, you miss the gorgeous weather, the beautiful sunrise. If you’re worried about having enough money to last until payday, you forget how much you have. Not being able to eat out pales when you consider all those who are not able to eat. Having loved ones with problems, makes you forget that there are those who have no one. Having too much to do, leaves no room to consider those who can’t do anything.

So today, Thank You Jesus. Thank you for this country which seems so broken. Thank you for this body that seems so broken. Thank you for this family that seems so often burdened.

Because of you it’s all going to be all right. In fact, it’s going to be perfect and if I spend enough time thinking about it, it’s not nearly so bad as it seems now.

Thank you Jesus. I’m blessed.

Nick
