What’s Your Problem?

What’s your problem? Oh, come on  you know you have one. Everybody has problems. Sometimes it seems that life is nothing but a serial problem, one thing after the other.
Before tackling the problem of problems, a brief side note. Wednesday night at the senior pot luck my wife brought ham and a pea salad. Two other folks thought a pea salad was a good idea. So we had an abundance of peas. This might have been a problem except that we just ate all three. Problem gone.
God has answers to our [P]roblems. It’s all in the [P]eas.
Most problems can be eliminated if we will thing “P.”
Perspective – We can eliminate a bunch of problems if we can have God’s Perspective. What may seem like a problem to us, is not. We just don’t have the entire perspective. We usually have an earth bound, time limited view. God sees all. He sees our present, but also our past and future. With that perspective, He knows that our current situation is not an eternally significant problem. If we could just have His perspective.
Power – Some situations we face are a problem because we feel powerless to do anything about them OR we think we can handle them with our puny power and just make things worse. If we had the benefit of God’s power those mountains could be cast to the sea. If only we had the benefit of God’s power.
Peace – Some situations are a problem to us because we just can’t handle them. We need to have peace in a storm. That’s easy to say but some storms are really scary. If we had peace in those situations, it would surpass all understanding (I think there’s a bible verse about that???) If only we had God’s peace.
So why don’t we have Gods Perspective, Power and Peace? How can we get it? Remember the story of the peas? We need to spend time in His Presence. When we spend time with God it’s not unlike spending time with any friend, we begin to absorb some of His attributes. Only since God is so powerful, there is a much better transfer of attributes. With God we acquire Perspective, Peace and Power. Problems solved.
I should warn you that if you spend time with God you will also absorb his Passion. You see He has a Problem too. Far too many don’t know Him. He commissioned us to do something about that, but we never will without the Passion He has for the lost.
Spend time with God and exchange your Problems for a New Passion.
You’ll be blessed and be a blessing.
Nick
